Peef

December 4th

We were lucky to see another wonderful play, Peef. We were joined by some wonderful friends from preschool and our old neighborhood. Candy and Milk Dud really enjoyed it. Milk Dud almost made it the whole time but towards the end he was done. They really enjoyed the large Peef Bear.

Candy was also able to write a letter to Santa. She is asking for a sled that is straight.

Church Pictures

December 1st

We had church pictures tonight. We were hoping to get a Christmas card out of some pictures, but we did not choose any of these. (I know it is January and we are still working on getting cards out.) We did get a few great pictures from the photographer, but these are a few we took before we left the house.

Post-Thanksgiving Gathering

November 29th

We were excited to head down the street to

Aunt and Uncles for a post-Thanksgiving celebration.

Thanks for hosting a great day of food, family, and relaxation.

Here are some of the pies. (One was eaten the night before and our Pumpkin Cake Roll is in there also.)

Black Friday

November 28

For those that do not know, we love shopping in Papa Popcorn and Nana Banana's town on black Friday. It is much smaller town and has most of the stores we want to go to. We can also always talk people into watching the kids sleep at 4:00 am (thanks Uncle Pizza, and Nana for helping out.) We were able to find some wonderful gifts, and many things for ourselves. Doughnut and I just really enjoy the time together but we were really tired that night.

I was given a wonderful birthday gift from my parents and it was to take a pie making class. Since my aunt heard I was taking a pie making class, she said I could bring pies to Thanksgiving at her house. My class was the weekend before. As I was walking out the door, the phone rang and the class was cancelled. I then was worried about making pies for Thanksgiving. My mother (who is a wonderful cook) said we could make them at her house, and she would teach me. The class sent all the recipes we were going to make so we were set. We ended up making 6 pies!!

We made: Blueberry, Cherry, Pecan Pie, Honey Chocolate Pecan Pie, Chocolate Carmel Banana Pie, Carmel Apple Pie

Candy is always ready to help in the kitchen!!!

Thanksgiving Day

We were excited to be at Doughnuts family for Thanksigiving Day. And since our wonderful aunt was VERY sick, we all went out for a great meal. (No dishes, no prep work, no feeling ill because you ate too much, no leftovers.... ok the last one was a downfall about eating out.)

We had a great meal and wonderful company.

We then went to Grandma and Papa's for desserts and family time.

Candy and Ice Cream enjoying making crafts with Grandma all afternoon.

They made clay necklaces.

Clay necklaces drying after being painted.

Milk Dud loves art now also. He also really enjoyed riding the tractor.

Thanksgiving Treats

November 26
Thanksgiving Activity was to make desserts.
We were excited to make Pilgrim hats and Turkeys out of peanut butter balls.
They were tasty and a fun activity with our kids.
They each invited one friend to join us but one got sick.

Peanut Butter Balls
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup powder sugar
1 ½ cups Rice Krispies
2 Tablespoons butter
Make into balls and chill. Melt 1 Package Heresy's Milk Chocolate and a small chunk of paraffin wax. Dip balls into melted covering and let harden on wax paper. Enjoy!

The hat is a large marshmallow.

Catch-up - Way behind

November 22 and 23

Since we were leaving for Thanksgiving we decorated the weekend before.
We wanted to keep this blog as a journal and I am WAY behind.
I hope you do not mind as we will catch-up on the last 6 weeks.

We were lucky to have our cousins visit for a day.
We were able to send them home in their Christmas jammies.

Ice Cream was sad I did not get him matching ones and said, "They do not look like girl pj's, I want some." (I will know better next time - He got car pj's.)
