6th Tooth GONE

April 1st

Ice Cream lost another tooth at school. He has been working on it, and we knew it would be soon. What an April Fools day surprise for him. He lost it while in line to leave for the day. He was a little worried but made it to the nurse and on the bus without any problems. We are now working on the other two loose ones.

5 Minute Chocolate Cake

End of March

We are greatful for wonderful friends that find fun things for us to make and EAT!! Friends from our old neighborhood came for a playdate and brought a fun activity for everyone. We made 5 Minute Chocolate Cake. Really, it takes 5 minutes to mix, and cook (microwave), and not much more time to eat. We had a fun time and have tried it 2 more times since.

Here we are sharing our fun with our Tuesday playdate.
We thought Grandma and Grandpa would enjoy it and they did.

They went home with a copy to make it at home.

If you want to enjoy some cake also, here you go...I warn you, read the warning at the bottom before you start.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour

4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 egg

3 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chocolate chips

(optional)a small splash of vanilla extract

1 large coffee mug (We do not have large coffee mugs so I used a soup mug and a small bowl )

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Art Show for Candy

March 19th

Candy was featured in an art show in the gallery at our community center. The preschool had an art show, and it was fantastic. She was able to come up with her own idea. "A Colorful Window" was painted to look like a stained glass window from our church.

We were excited to see her work.
Who knows this might just start something.

St. Patrick's Day ....I know I am behind

March 17th

I know we are not Irish, but how can you not have fun and we Swedes can think green, right? Candy's preschool had a leprechaun come and leave footprints, and green snacks at school and I think the leprechaun decided to come home with us because we had a mess on St. Patrick's Day. The kids woke to find foot prints on their faces, gold candy money all over the floor (his bag of gold must have ripped), and green milk in the fridge. It was exciting for our household.

We had conferences tonight (April 2nd) with Ice Cream's teacher. She had to tell us how excited Ice Cream was on St. Patrick's day and how all the kids were really jealous they did not get gold coins at their house. I am not sure they were excited about the milk.

Milk Dud does not drink cow's milk for the most part. He just does not want it. But turn it green and he was willing to try it. He did not like it but he tired it. The other two children would not even try it. Thanks to Dad for finishing it so it would not go to waste.

We all wore green and had to take a few quick pictures.

Last bit of Spring Break

March 12-15

We had a wonderful end of spring break.

We traveled to see great friends and their two beautiful daughters.

Thanks to Nana and Papa, the older kids enjoyed the long car ride with their new DVD players. (Great Christmas gift!) Milk Dud enjoyed the ride so much he forgot to take a nap!! Lucky for him, Mom sat near and entertained him for 6 hours!

We enjoyed a trip to a Children's Museum.

We made homemade pizza. Every0ne made it the way they wanted it.

We enjoyed getting the kids doughnuts. Our

Goddaughter had this to say about doughnuts awhile back, and

we just had to treat her again.

We enjoyed a cool day at the zoo. By the end, we had a few less layers and a lot of wet feet. The melting snow was almost as much fun as the animals. We did see a very pregnant giraffe and were able to feed her. Did you know that a garaffe does not sit down once pregnant and is with baby for 15 months!

Our first outdoor picnic of the year!!

We brought our Wii along for Ice Cream to play during down times. He was able to play with the adults after all the younger kids went to bed. He loved that. On the last day, as we were packing, we let the middle children play. When we went to eat brunch the babies thought it was their turn and jumped right up to play.

Spring break = indoors???

We did it!! I got out of the house and on time for an outing with 5 kids. I am so lucky to have great nieces and wonderful kids. We had a great day, enjoyed our picnic lunches and were joined by our nephew and other Auntie.

Milk Dud was like a new kid here.

We were here 6 weeks ago and he had a hard time climbing and

doing everything by himself.

Today, he just took off and tried and did everything.

Our little guy is getting BIG!!

Swimming with Cousins - spring break

March 8th

We had a great spring break. We were lucky enough to have the cousins for a night. We started with a fun swim at our community center. Auntie stayed and helped so we could all swim. Everyone had a great time. Auntie stayed for dinner but was soon asked to leave by her youngest. She kept saying, "I thought you were leaving us Mommy."
